Job Description
Nurses to work as Senior Clinical Advisors (Band 6 Salary) required for West Yorkshire Ambulance Trust in the UK. (Location: North of England)

FACE-TO-FACE interview in NOVEMBER 2022

 

Requirements

Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
IELTS/OET as per NMC requirements
IELTS Academic (R: 7.0 ; S: 7.0; R:7.0; W:6.5) OR
OET (R: B ; S: B; R:B; W:C+)
Minimum 3 years recent experience in Emergency/Critical care department (or very similar)
excellent communication skills
Need to pass the NMC OSCE exam, a YAS OSCE and the NHS Pathways exam after reaching UK. (Those who cannot pass NHS pathways and/or YAS OSCE examination, can work as registered nurse in another NHS trust after passing NMC OSCE exam)

work under 111 telephone service which is available 24/7 and provides clinical advise and assessment by telephone
Working on the telephone providing clinical triage Triage and community care/family centred/first assessment
Clinical queue management, including allocation of cases to pharmacists and General Practitioners
Floor walking to support your colleagues on the telephones
Undertaking call audits and providing feedback to Health Advisors and colleagues to support their development
it is a call centre call handler role, not clinical
You will Need

The ability to listen and quickly understand what’s happening
The empathy to be able to talk to the person in the way that will connect with them
The kind of clinical assessment skills that will enable you to cut through what’s been said and understand what’s really happening
A level of calm that enables you to deal with even the most distressing situations quickly and without hesitation
Note: You will have two attempts to pass the NHS Pathways exam, the training and exam will be taken within the first three weeks of your arrival (this may be flexible due to travel/settling in from India to the UK). If you fail the exam, you will be able to continue preparations for the OSCE, and after passing the OSCE, work as a band 5/6 nurse at another NHS trust who will support your career.
