Classification Qualification Requirement
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Achieved the requirements to be accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) of Ireland as an Emergency Medical Technician or an equivalent approved by DCAS.
- Have the competencies to perform all skills including medications, as defined in the PHECC Medication and Skills Matrix as modified and approved by DCAS to meet local requirements.
- Hold current license and/or qualification as Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent
Paramedic
- Achieved the requirements to be accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) of Ireland as Paramedic or an equivalent approved by DCAS.
- Have the competencies to perform all skills including medications, as defined in the PHECC Medication and Skills Matrix as modified and approved by DCAS to meet local requirements.
- Hold current license and/or qualification as Paramedic or equivalent.
- Current ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS
Advanced Paramedic
- Achieved the requirements to be accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) of Ireland as Advanced Paramedic or an equivalent approved by DCAS.
- Have the competencies to perform all skills including medications, as defined in the PHECC Medication and Skills Matrix as modified and approved by DCAS to meet local requirements.
- Hold current license and/or qualification as Advanced Paramedic or equivalent.
