  1. Fellow nurses beware. This is one hospital that you would NEVER want to go to. Hellish admin, workplace and workload. Your license and life is not worth risking with what they're offering. Be warned. Dont be fooled.

    6. My wife used to work there and quitted after two years. Their ER is like a ward. She had a really bad time there. Thank God she is now in another hoapital.

    7. is it the administration problem if you cannot cope up with your work? Some nurses are really stupid to the level of very stupid and then blame the PSMMC for their not so good experience? God, compared to other hospital, our hospital is much better. Time to reflect.

      Delete
    8. Not bad. With the salary + overtime and challenging work makes you not bored. If you want a relax job better work in the park picking leaves and trashes.

    9. Before you continue with your application, look for all comments made by Major Omani ( Major Problem ), you can see how arrogant, unprofessional and racist he/she is. Major Omani is one sample of a bird sitting standing on a carabao which makes him feel above all. Don't have to comment further just check all his replies then you decide.

    10. I beg to disagree to some comments. I was employed in this hospital for 8 years. This is where I got the "feel" of how to become a nurse, the real one. I only have 2 years of work experience before I worked there and it's not an easy start. I focused on the experience I gained. I was driven by my determination to become what I am now. I left this hospital 3 years ago for a better future. As I left, I was so self assured that I cannot face any nursing issues and difficulties because I was molded to the best of my abilities and capabilities.
Some of the young nurses who joined the program have no enough experience back home, who thought that they are already good. Try to assess yourself, did you not learn from this hospital? Who will pay you that much even without a proper training and work experience? Are you really a good worker before you joined or you were just trained there? How competent were you when you were really new?
There is no easy job. Be determined to gain the work experience and polish yourself for a better opportunity later. But, if you only have 2 years experience in the Phils and very choosy in looking for an employment, then you don't deserve to work in PSMMC. I worked with nurses who have no experience (fake employment certs) and they really had a hard time. Those were the quitters. But of course they need to blame someone to boost their moral. The reality is they cannot cope, not because of the workload but because of lack of critical thinking, decision making and self confidence. You can encounter a lot of them there and guess what? They are the most complaining staff. When they cannot finish there work, it is because "nobody helped them" ... and so on and so forth. Nursing job is not only about knowledge and skills but also about the right attitude.
Of course I agree that there are other hospitals out there, but it is not appropriate to say bad things to the hospital that has given you the opportunity to learn and earn...

    11. I TOTALLY DISAGREE ABOUT ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS HERE IN THIS THREAD. for me, PSMMC is one of the best hospital in the world. I worked here for 5 years already and because of this hospital, i owned now my new HOUSE AND LOT and it's paid already because of my monthly salary and the same time i send my sister in University of Sto. Tomas to study Doctor of Medicine.. Thank you so much PSMMC.

    12. For those whose criticizing ER well FYI working in ER is really tough job it requires a lot of critical thinking! If you don't have have of course you'll be stressed and pissed off! For those who work in ER admit it that it's one of the big factor why you were hired in the other hospital. Be thankful coz you learn a lot from this area!

    15. Finally, I have acceptance in this hospital as SN2. Ang daming negative comments. As a first timer, thankful ako kasi nagkaroon ako ng idea if ano ang madatnan ko pagdating ko ng PSMMC with my husband as he used to work on this hospital for 5 years already. I have to give some comments to all nurse na puro negative comments ang sinasabi. I have one question about you. How do you assess yourself as a Registered Nurse? Did you trained well in the Philippines before applying in PSMMC? Do you have idea about the right attitude of being a nurse? The PRONS and CONS of a Registered Nurse? I have some good comments here and it caught my attention of what he/she said that "hindi suklay, makeup or lipstick ang ating lagging hawak" which is true. As a Registered Nurse I think you should obey what is your responsibilities. Maybe, one reason bakit nagrereact kayo about bullying is because you are lack of knowledge, skills, and self confidence.

    3. Major Omani you should be demoted to Private and go back to management school for further training. Your professionalism is very bad, you look at your workers as you own them and your slave. You are one of hell BS and an AHole BOSS I may say.

    2. Sometimes young nurses are brainwashed to thinking that this is a hellish hospital. But mind you, every hospital has politics, has lackings. And comparing PSMMC to other government hospital here in Riyadh, we are a level higher than them in terms of administration. I'm sure you'll regret leaving this hospital.

      Delete
    3. I have been working there for about 7 years. My basic salary was considered low as compared to other MOH. But i did not leave the hospital because i saw the opportunity to learn and honestly, i was so blessed that i did not follow my other friends to go to other hospital. I have a very good nursing team in ICU, i have very very supportive superiors and most of all, i enjoyed my work. Yes, management could be a bit difficult but i won't say BAD or worse because i have very good nursing administrators. Young nurses..i need to say that your attitude is very important if you wanna work in such a high tech especially ICU. At times, we need to consider we are dealing with critically ill patients in ICU. You don't aspect being hired and can't perform at the end or when you make mistakes and being told by leaders / superior, you make a big fuss if it. I agree with Major Omani said REFLECT. You got to see what you have to prove that you are competent to perform in such highly demand in quality. Look at where you stand, if your were the RN, follow the chance of command and it is not your business to condemn about administration of the organization. See things in broader prospect and understand each every leader or administrators there having their own role to lead the organization. I am not saying things to back up any one here and you need to understand these:
      1. You are the only one will see the opportunity the you work in that hospital ( mind you that i am so proud when i mentioned and wrote in my cv about my experiences in that hospital ).
2.You can't only hear the bad thing but you got to weight what you want. Nursing must be good in knowledge and skills. If you wanna skills, you won't regret to join the hospital.
      3. Are you dare to challenge yourself into one level higher in nursing adventures?

      Delete
    4. Somehow correct. Good for new comers to learn and improve skills. NO PAIN NO GAIN.

      Delete

NEW STAFF NURSES IN THIS HOSPITAL JUST COME AND GOES. ONLY THOSE WHO WORK HERE FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS WHOSE FAMILY ARE IN RIYADH AS WELL AND THOSE OLDIES WHO CANT FIND ANOTHER EMPLOYMENT IN OTHER HOSPITAL BCOZ OF AGE ISSUE STAYS IN THIS HOSPITAL.

  7. I think its nit tje inly hospital that has worst management. There are hospitals too with tje same worst management in Jeddah...it has got european name, they will let u sign a 2 yr contract in the philippines and offer you good salary, but when u reached jeddah and the hospital, they wiuld make another new contract and wl let u sign it and ul be surprise bcoz u wl b working with them now for 3 yrs and ur salary is not what was being offered to u in d philippines. They wl lower the offer. You cnt do anything but sign but with heaviness in ur heart you will really regret why u go there and work! SGH really is a big hospital but tje nursing admin are worst! Some people there too are very rude!

  8. Nurses ate being withheld from ending their contracts in saudi german hospital jeddah because of understaff. No more wanted to work with them. Many went for vacations and didnot return because of the rotten system. You will be your own attorney in that hospital. So nurses, BEWARE of this hospital. Its name sounds good but people working there are MONSTERS!

    1. Based on my personal experienced, this has been happening since in the late 90's. Nursing admin is worse. They are pulling the nurses to the ward eventhough they were only assigned in outpatient. when you complained, there's an administrative warning. 1 day absent is 3 days deduction. that's SGH.

      Delete
  9. Im currently working in this hospital... For me if you're assigned in one of the special areas it isn't bad at all... but for ER and the Wards... try to think 100x before you get the offer.. :)

    2. excuse me Ms Faten the salary that we are receiving from the hospital is not enough for all our effort and hardwork ....... and it is a hard-earned money and not free..... you sucks!

      Delete
    3. Nursing, from what we learned in our school, is both science and art. Heart and dedication toward patient's care, combined with mastering nursing skills, is the main reason why we became nurses. If you just went with your nursing career thinking of the money and profit you will gain, time to reflect. Quit nursing before you kill people.

      Delete
    4. Ms. Faten whatever things your employee has e.g. laptop, cellphone are hard earned and worked for. Employees do not owe the hospital for whatsoever, if you really went to school and it's what you call a rendered service. Employees don't leave because of the company it's because of the BOSS. Mind you Saudi Arabia is not the only place where a professional skilled nurse could work. Ms. Faten as your name suggest, just sit in your chair and fatten your ASS and wait till the management decides you are not needed anymore and YOU"ll GET KICKED. For your work, it is much harder to find a job.

      Delete
    5. According to the CBA afformentioned in the contract you signed, you submitted yourself to be an "EMPLOYEE" and PSMMC your "EMPLOYER". Somehow the "EMPLOYER" have the superiority over the "EMPLOYEE". Read again your contract. You are forgetting the vital parts.

  13. I think it's not that bad... It depends on how you handle your workload and the situation.... 2 years experience in this hospital can be an add on qualification if you apply to other hospitals abroad (open country) ..I'm currently working in this hospital.. 😁

  14. I'm currently working in this hosp, there was a realignment that caused our salaries to increase from 4000 to 4700 (Overtime not yet included), if you are working in ER and special areas it would be much higher..I have faith that the administration and authorities were still on the process of working towards the improvement of management and facilities since the hosp is enormous enough to manage and control..Optimistic that bullies will be completely eradicated..As to the applicants, pray for direction..God Bless;)

    2. I am not replying anonymously, i have my name. I had worked in this Hospital for 20 years all in specialized area. yes there were bulliers in those early years of my work but i didn't mind them, i worked till i reached where i was until i resigned due to age. I was and i am thankful because this Hospital RMH/PSMMC has given me the opportunity to grow and acquired all the skills, talents
and etc. in short became a real Professional Nurse. This Hospital has given me everything that i needed of course i worked for it... had vast of experiences, never complained of the workload given but if it is unfair distribution thats the only time i talked to them about the unfairness.. I know most of the Nurses are afraid to approach your CN's but if you got something then be assertive and tell them what you feel and not to say things against their back..yeas workload is too much, but on the contrary i have seen our Heads trying their very best to talk to the Administration to give us more Nurses so i can't blame them they are doing their part.....Some mentioned most of the time you are holding your bladders but can't go to the Restroom bec. of the heavy load, but this depends on the Nurse this is time management, it all depends on you how to handle and manage your assigned patients. If you are a Nurse only by Profession then you don't belong here... We go abroad to work and all we always say is for greener pasteur, to help your Family and etc. so be it then be a Nurse.... I am a Nurse by heart and in deeds, acted Professionally and handled things in a professional way.. I didn't mind people who are very bossy who think they knew better, we all have our own specific distinctions, talents and etc....i worked towards my goal and i was happy for all those achievements i have shared to RMH/PSMMC....Yes give chance to others, instead of making negative comments let them try they might be better than the comments you all posted.... I also agree with Major Omani most of the time Nurses are with their cellphones Agree...

  32. Hypocrites!!! Let us consider that somehow, we benefited from the Program. Not delayed tax free salary, free housing, electricity water, what will you ask for more? Are you earning that amount way back when you were still in the Philippines? HELL NO!!! Yeah, there's some lapses in the administration and the workload is sometimes too much, but mind you, it's not always you are overworked everyday!!! You signed the contract, and then you will say that it's hard?! It's your fucking problem. What kind of work did you expect?

It's really sad and very heart breaking to see those negative comments. All I can say is that the benefit is more than the loss. Looking back, it helped you financially, your practice of nursing leveled up because of the hi-tech and not-seen-in-the-Philippines medical apparatus, you gained friends and you matured in all aspect.

Final words, for the former staff that resigned: Isn't that backstabbing your former employer and work area is bad? Did you know that there's a possibility that the employer you are applying to will ask you about your past employment? And what will you say? Negative comments!!! And there's a possibility that they will not hire you because of your attitude. And for those wanting to go here in PSMMC: Don't let other people's comment ruin your possible good career. Trust your instincts, and if it will not go with the way you think it should be, then you can contemplate and resign.

If you can not save here...sorry. Your golden years will be at stake..go other countries where you will get a retirement security or pension when you grow old or grey. 39. The administration conducted a study regarding bullying, and surprisingly the reasons are: Emotionally immatured and incompetent nurses. We are dealing with other peoples life here so we want you to be competent, but majority of the nurses failed, but the administration gave them a chance (since they came here under a contract.) We allowed them to work in the area, and gave them time to cope, but still there's lacking among nurses: the emotional maturity. Work area is really rough, too much stress will come your way, this is a hospital mind you. Senior nurses tried to orient the juniors and they saw it in negative way. They saw it as BULLYING. A senior nurse will really get angry if a (stupid and emotionally immature) junior nurse cannot grasp what she already told for many times! Reflect. Sometimes the inner problem is within yourself, not from the administration.

PSMMC is far behind King Faisal..just talk about this hospital's Severance pay when you stop work..or even The Medicial City nearby or The National Guard down Kurais road to the east who goes vacation 2x a year..and this is true..just compare. We all came here for money, so the best thing to do is do our job and learn to handle our issues until the contract ends. For nurses working in polyclinics like me, we dream to work at hospitals which gives salaries that compensates our workload. 46. I worked in this hospital for almost 15 yrs. before migrating to another country. This was my training ground and I learned a lot and became a competent RN. This is a tertiary hospital and a teaching hospital (I don't know if I said it right, correct me if Im wrong) that's why the workload was variable when I was still there, sometimes busy, sometimes not. I loved my job till now, because if I don't love what Im doing in my job maybe quitted long time ago. Its a feeling of accomplishment day after day for me. RMH was very generous because they allowed me to undergo 3 surgeries (1 major and 2 minor). What I hated was when I wasn't able to get my severance pay but then its ok as I receive more blessings in a different way, in a different time and place. This is just me, trying to reminisce my stay in RMH. Now, happily working in USA. Those who are still young in the nursing career....this is a good training ground if you have ambition to settle or try other countries later. Just be obedient with the Saudi laws and you will be fine.

But I am thankful because I have learned alot, you will gain experience and at the end of the month all your hard work will be compensated with a good salary. There is no easy job, thats why we are paid to do it. Truly we just need a change in attitude, if we fill our minds with negativity, we can never enjoy what we are doing, we cannot focus on our work, and we will never grow in our profession. Let us not discourage those people who want to experience working here at PSMMC, maybe they will have a different perspective and different attitude in handling things.

And instead of bad mouthing the hospital and Major Omani why not state your grievances to a proper forum' All hospital have their own flaws and lacking ..those giving negative and rude comments please enough cause it might reflect other hardworking and contented filipino nurses.who are still working in this hosp. For job hunters---fyi PSMMC - salaries never delayed , overtime are paid, yes ,workload are heavy in some areas and understaffed in some areas but due to the fact that since demands of nurses all over the world nurses keep on eying on one country to another from one hosp to another and administration is still in a rehabilitation stage...so to job hunters it's your choice! I am just an ordinary employee here, working for more than 5 years now as a nurse. I am very confident and honest to claim that where I am now is competitively one of the best workplace globally. And… ONE OF THE HIGHEST PAID NURSES HERE IN SAUDI ARABIA!!! Yes. Indeed It is true that we have flaws and we have a lot more to revise and to update. Administrators and employees are currently struggling to attain a more upgraded version of PSMMC. To do so, us, Employees and Administrators need to have a more positive outlook. Hence we don’t need unprofessional and arrogant nurses in our team. Arrogance can be a part of negative environment and we do not deserve to have such kind of people. We are in fact better off without you. We do not need you’re your negativity to take over our area. Regardless of the level of stress we are experiencing right now, we shall take it as a challenge. As We all know, our pledge of nursing includes maintaining and elevating to the best of our knowledge the standard of our profession. You did not took the challenge as part of nursing that is why you quitted. Do not spread your negativity in life. Everyone who resigned had an opportunity to state their reason for quitting. Well, cowardly, they did not even say a word. Here you are claiming unjust words behind the curtain. If you are all braver enough to say these nasty words against where I am now why don’t you show your real identities to raise your concern. It is probably better for you to stay in our home country and enjoy the limited resources that we have rather than giving your consistent gossips in every employer that you work for.The work that we have right now with PSMMC is a blessing and we should learn to cherish appreciate.

  64. Nakakatuwa basahin lahat ng mga commenta Dito... Diko mapigilan mag comment din hahaha. Anyway ako Im still currentky working Dito. Sa isang tinatawag na Jungle department. ED 😁. Anyway masasabi ko lang experience wise, ul learn a lot. Bullying.... Forced OTs.. Yung straight na 4 days isang off tapos 4 days ulet... Normal na yan. and given pa Yung mga uguali ng mga patiente..hayop kung hayop tayo tratuhin. i felt like less than a chimay. Like mababang uri ng tao kahit tissue ipapakuha pa sau. Uv been warned. But if you,re versatile enough at kaya Ming mag trabaho despite the unlikely environment, then go. But make sure u have the gots to stand on your decision. Anyway its your life ur call.

    1. Dear, kapag na hire ka as MS ward nurse, it doesnt mean na dun ka ilalagay. Madami mismatch from experience to work allocation kasi malaki ang hospital, madaming areas. I cannot tell how other areas are coping with workload, I do not have the idea. Good luck to your kapatid.

    3. Well, all we can do is trust the instincts and capabilities. We, Filipinos, are well respected here because we can cope very easily. Nothing will be easy at the start, but as time will go, I know everybody can cope. And hope he/she will be assigned to a better area than MS. I mean, it's time to upgrade professionally, right? Good luck and God bless.

    4. You're right ma'am/sir i was just worrying what will happen to her but i'm praying she can cope very easy. And i also hope their co-workers will be nice and helping to the new ones. Another question ma'am i was also wondering if their area of accomadation is only walking distance to the hospital?

  79. hi, i just had my interview via telephone today, the interview went well though but as i was browsing the forum about the hospital i really got discouraged...the situation is almost similar with my previous hospital... the workload is very much yet very less salary cannot even compensate for the hard work but then the only good thing is that my colleagues in the area are nice and really good, we don't bully any new nurses that is assigned to us unless if we are very busy and then we saw someone doing nothing even if she is already 3 months working its like no initiative at all!! i agree that it is all in the attitude to rule out the bullying that is happening in the area with the senior nurses. what made me discouraged is that the negative comments are very real, i mean they might be real for sure but its like "madadala ka din"... i wish its not true that seniors are not helping the newbee's in the area, because to be honest i'm kinda bit scared, i can easily learn the routine though but of course at first i needed assistance from the seniors since its not all the same equipment even if you had already experience working abroad with the same country but different hospital. really i'm weighing things over because i am very confused right now..hope i could be enlightened.
